This workshop intended for newly hired/newly eligible Unclassified employees who will be making their upcoming retirement plan choice. OSU’s Retirement Officer will provide an overview of both retirement plan options: 1) the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and 2) the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). Information about the Voluntary Retirement Savings Programs will also be covered.

Training in the selection, use, and maintenance of respirators.  Class includes fit testing.  Class covers need for respirator protection; respiratory hazards; how respirators work; how to inspect, don, check, and wear a respirator; emergency response; and regulations.

Initial safety training for unsealed isotope users.  Covers dosimetry, protective clothing, contamination surveys, labeling, detectors, security, inventory, waste, lab best practices.

This 2 hour training includes online reading material followed by face-to-face training. Available upon request.

Covers items and materials that require pre-approval by Radiation Safety prior to purchase.  Identification of equipment or materials containing radioactive materials, x-ray equipment, certain safety equipment. Request training for your group for BennyBuy roles.

Current Training options available are Shopper, Requestor, Approver and Invoice Entry.  Each session is about an hour and 15 minutes. Please register for each training by itself, with the exception of Shopper and Requestor which can be combined as there is a lot of crossover. Approver and Invoice entry should not be combined with any other session. 

Trainings are offered Thursdays from 9am-12pm.

Many aspects of the classroom experience are connected to state, federal and institutional compliance directives. Join staff from the Office of the Registrar, Disability Access Services, and Equal Opportunity and Access to learn more about faculty responsibilities related to accommodating students (disability, pregnancy, religion, and military deployment) and responsibilities related to reporting sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment and child abuse. There will be time for questions, case studies, and consultation.
