This course satisfies the training requirements of the Oregon OSHA Heath Illness Prevention Rule. Overall, this course will take about 30 minutes to complete. It explains why the rule came into existence and what heat illness is. It includes different types of heat illnesses, common symptoms, and effective first aid responses. It covers the effects of risk factors on the body’s tolerance to occupational heat stress, and lastly, it discusses what is required to be provided by the employer to help employees prevent heat illnesses, along with the plans and procedures they must have in place for the worksite.
